2012 Church Theme
"Exalting the Savior, Equipping the Saints & Evangelizing the Sinner"
Ephesians 4:10-15
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: That we [henceforth] be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

Reflections On Our Theme 2011
As our church family continues her Christian growth as Disciples of Christ, we will move forward in 2011 with our 2010 theme. I have a greater appreciation for our national convention laboring under the same theme for at least four years. For certain themes to initiate transformation, growth and development, a year is simply not enough time. Our theme is one that mandates us to appropriate as much time as necessary for our congregation to internalize its meaning.
I am fully convinced that another year invested in our theme will reap a tremendous harvest of spiritual growth for us. Over the last year the Lord has allowed many of us to internalize our theme. It is encouraging to hear persons in the congregation referencing the theme as they share personal testimonies, or speak about events in their lives. Our ministry leaders have demonstrated the impact of the theme upon their lives as they have orchestrated ministry events throughout the year. Again, it has been a true inspiration and encouragement to see our theme take root in the life of ministry leaders. Those of us who share in the Prayer Ministry on Wednesday evenings we too are blessed to hear the prayers offered encouraging the believers of our church family to go forward worshipping, witnessing and serving with the mind of Christ.
In 2011 it will be our goal to have more of the church family embrace and internalize our theme. We must be diligent in our efforts to make this theme a living reality in the lives of all who call Trinity their home church. For those of us who already walk in relationship with the theme we must continue to integrate it into our lives. We must also express it through our daily living so that others might experience its purpose and power.
There is a danger of disrupting the spiritual impact God has purposed for this theme if we too soon separate ourselves from the challenge of its message. To remain with this theme for another year will present us opportunity to become what God desires us to be, and what the Word mandates we become, and ultimately what Jesus “called” us to be, Christian Disciples.
Replete throughout the year of 2010 we heard from the servants of God who ministered to us and challenged the congregants of Trinity Church to move from membership to discipleship. Christ has called us to be His disciples. Nowhere in the Bible does Christ ever address or reference His followers as members.
With the mind of Christ we will see ourselves as His disciples and seek to live as Christians worshipping, witnessing and serving with the mind of Christ.
Let us move forward in 2011 seeking for ourselves, and one another a deeper understanding and appreciation for what it means to be a Disciple of Christ; worshipping, witnessing and serving with the mind of Christ.
